Author: Sandra Organ

Sandra Organ Solis is a black woman, one of seven siblings raised in Omaha, Nebraska for two native Texans. Becoming Houston Ballet's first Black ballerina and soloist brought her to back to Texas roots. She formed her own non profit dance ensemble, Earthen Vessels, choreographs and teaches movement in studios, churches, and in pools (mostly on zoom these days). Her interest in telling the stories of people of color, whether in dance, as a speaker, or on the page, is a motivating principle to expand compassion in the world. She met Carlos, whose passion for cycling, scientific discovery, raising awareness around social justice and IT strategies has blended their lives and loves in creative and surprising ways. Living in the Texas hillcountry has offered them new pathways to build bridges in these fractured times.
